Black and white special boy. vaccinated/neutered/wormed/flead

Meet Blitzen. He is has his name due to him coming to us so close to christmas.

Blitzen would have lasted much longer on the streets. He was found under odd circumstances but ones that have paid off as he is now safe and been looked after.

He has extremely bad ears and quite possibly ear mites, so he's been started on his ear drops that will clean that right up. Sadly this has lost some or possible full hearing loss. This wont hold him back, especially as we only re-home the cats to in-door homes only. But it means he does sleep heavy :)

The mats in his fur were so bad i couldn't even cut my scissors through and there was no chance the clippers were going through as they were as hard as stone. So i've spent time slowly cutting them out right next to the skin, poor thing, and then shaved what i could. I've brushed some out as there were smaller but a lot of his coat has been removed.

Once the mats were out he was as thin as anything, In fact so thin that after his bath be had no energy to stand up and was falling all over the place like he was drunk. So i don't think he would have lasted more than another few nights on the streets. He's having small and regular small meals and is keeping them down quite well but desperately wants more. So he is having some kitten milk to help him.

He had a snuffly nose which was a result of been in the cold to long and very sore pads on his front feet as if he has been walking forever. He keeps debating which on to put on the floor.

He has the most beautiful eyes, blue and green and could be so big in size given time.

Blitzen wont be ready to go to his new home until into in February time as he has along way to go. But we think he will make 100% recovery and will make an amazing family member as he isn't bothered by children or dogs.

If you think Blitzen could be the kitty for you please get in touch with us at Cookiesfriends@hotmail.co.uk

Blitzen will be vaccinated, neutered wormed and flead and will need a forever indoor home.

We are "Cookie's Friends Family Rescue" a family run rescue based in Birmingham. We take on animals (mainly cats and dogs) that have been abandoned and often abused or animals that have been taken to the vets to be distroyed with out a real cause. Our aim is to rehabilitate animals that are scared or abussed and offer some training to those who need it. These beautiful animals are then put up for adoption. They are in need of a loving forever home where they can receive the love they deserve. All the rescued animals are kept in our home and are made to feel a part of the family untill there right owner is found. If you feel you can offer any of our rescued animals a home, please get intouch. Our email address is Cookiesfriends@hotmail.co.uk ********************************************************************************************************************** Did you know that according to the Dogs Trust 2007 stray dog survey, 7,892 dogs were unnecessarily destroyed in the uk alone last year. This is shocking and unacceptable. The figures for america and other countrys would boost this figure up by thousands upon thousands. That's why here at Cookies Friends Family Rescue we try and help animals all over the world and not just those on our door step. Many of our day to day work for the rescue is spending time on myspace with a large community of animal lovers and sending out lists of animals due to be gassed that day and desperatly try to find them a safe home or a safe house so to speak just so they can live. We can have hundreds of animlas a day due to be killed just becasue they are unwanted or grew bigger than their owner thought they would. Some of these animals are pregnant (and will still be gassed) abused and starving to death. Some are even in need of rescuing from so called animal shelters that only care enough to come and feed and water the animals three times a week. Our door is always open and although we are just a small house with a garden (hopefuly one day we will have more land to save more animals) we will always try our hardest to stop any animals being killed without a good reason, or thrown out on to the streets because they are no longer loved. Just remember your pet deserves the best and deserves to be loved, dont throw it out like garbage, give it the chance to live and make someone happy with there love. If you are looking for a dog or cat in the UK and we have none here that suit you, or we just havent any up for adoption at that time, PLEASE still get in touch, i am always having lists sent to me of animlas on death row who are in need desperatly of a home (especially cross breads, German shepherds, staffordshire bull terriers, Jack Russell's and Rottweilers) . If you tell me what type of dog you are looking for, i will try my hardest to find the right one for you. It is rewarding as you have just saved a life and you will find a friend for life. Thank you to all our friends, for the support and encouragement you give us. Again our email address is Cookiesfriends@hotmail.co.uk
